Illegal Logging Due DiligenceDemonstrationUser guide
Each step explains what to enter, where to find it and what evidence to retain. Save at any time and return from the dashboard.
Have the product and customs information, supplier details, sales or delivery document, species and harvest information, and any certification or research ready.
Complete the assessment before importing the regulated timber product. If information is unavailable, record the gap and the reasonable steps taken to obtain it—do not guess.
If an answer is wrong or uncertain, return to that field and correct it. The system recalculates the scope result immediately.
If the recorded answers are correct but the result still appears wrong, use ‘Record a concern and pause’. The assessment remains at the scope step until an internal or specialist reviewer resolves it.

Create a separate assessment for the current product and import or consignment.
Use the customs tariff code and product facts to calculate whether due diligence applies. An exemption or out-of-scope result must be supported by attached evidence.
Create one record for each component, species or origin. Record the common and scientific name, country and area of harvest, and processing country for each source.
Copy the supplier identity, quantity and sales or delivery reference from current commercial documents.
Upload the current sales or delivery document and every other record relied upon. Certified pathways also need the current official database record. Record any gaps and attempts to resolve them.
Use the repeat-import pathway only when every comparison is met. Otherwise choose certified or non-certified and complete a current risk assessment.
The form displays the factors required for the certified or non-certified pathway. Record a dated finding and source for each, assess reliability and make a written conclusion to a reasonable standard.
If risk is not low, complete proportionate mitigation, record why it was proportionate and what further information was obtained, attach the evidence and reassess.
The assessor proposes a decision. An authorised approver reviews the complete record and evidence.
After import, record the actual date and retain the approved record and evidence for at least five years from that date.
